♦ YPs learn the ins and outs of home-buying
ypB continues to provide opportunities for YPs to learn.  On June 3rd, a panel of experts walked ypB members through the process of home-buying, from finding the right home, to inspections, financing and more.

The event was held at a home that is currently for sale in Melbourne, and consisted of a tour of the home complete with tips and tricks for what to notice and look out for when viewing a home.  Following the tour, panel members offered their advice on home purchasing and selling, and fielded questions from the 23 participants that attended.

We'd like to thank the following experts who lent their insights during this program: Lender – Joe Harris, Countrywide; Real Estate Agent – Jean Hanson, REMAX Elite; Appraiser – Bill Geiger, Geiger Geiger & Associates; and Insurance – Ozzie Webster, Webster Insurance.

Stay tuned for more programs of value from ypB!

♦ Enrollment period open for 2008-2009 Leadership Brevard program
If you've been thinking about ways that you can develop your leadership skills, learn about your community and connect to the largest network of leaders in Brevard, stop thinking and take action!  The next Leadership Brevard program will begin in September. Open enrollment, on a first-registered, first-accepted basis for this exceptional leadership development program is now taking place.

Fostering Leadership Skills
Leadership Brevard was founded to enhance the civic participation of emerging leaders within Brevard County. Annually, a class of fifty candidates representing the private, public and non-profit sectors enrolls for eight, day-long sessions of instruction and dialogue about key county & regional issues, leadership development skills and opportunities for increased civic involvement.

Class members work hands-on in leadership exercises, meet with key community leaders, and visit a variety of important institutions and places of interest.

Creating Team Solutions
In addition to day-long sessions, participants work in teams to create solutions to identified community challenges. Five or more community action projects are developed each year, many of which continue to impact our community in positive ways.

CLICK HERE for more information and to download an enrollment form.  Then, get ready to be a member of the "Best Class" of Leadership Brevard!
